Rewriting entire codebase, etc.

Hello guys! Last devlog was over two months ago, so you're probably wondering what I was doing since then. Well, I have much to share...

Basically, there's this gamemaker update that will supposedly change everything. Thinking it would come out sooner (it has still not come out yet), I decided that I would wait until it finally came out before continuing to work on it as some sort of procrastination technique. About a week and a half ago, I decided that I had waited long enough and that it was time to get back into the project.

In terms of the work that I have actually been doing since then, it's basically all just been cleanup as the code that I've written so far is an absolute abomination. Part of the reason why I wanted to wait for the gamemaker update before continuing to work actually has to do with this, since I'm going to be rewriting thousands of lines of code, I might as well wait for the update that will change how gamemaker language works. But because Yoyo Games is taking so long, I can't wait for them...

When it comes to work that I've gotten done, things are going pretty well. The game is running again and cutscenes are working perfectly, though there is this weird problem with the game's resolution that I have to fix. I haven't tried actually playing any levels yet, but they most likely don't work at all since I've been breaking gameplay code the most.

Hopefully by next week I'll have a working game so that I can start working on Part 2.
